Adai Monerville

TEACHER & P.E. LEAD

I started working with children when I was technically still one myself. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the curiosity and wonder of childhood and I always knew I wanted to create safe spaces for children to learn and express themselves.

I’ve been a teacher for 12 years, mostly in Early Years and Key Stage 1, specialising in maths and PE. I also worked for many years as a Play worker for children with Autism, a job I really loved.

I am in the process of studying a masters in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in children and adolescents. The psychodynamic approach means I place a lot of emphasis on the relationship I develop with each individual child. Each interaction is full of meaning and levels of communication which I try to be mindful of. It’s a journey I’m still on but it has informed and improved my teaching so much already.

Outside of teaching, you are likely to find me in a park, exercising and stretching. I am a coach and have an interest in callisthenics and parkour which means I’m often found hanging upside down or balancing on my hands.

I have two amazing sons who inspire me everyday.
